Danger: Diabolik (1968)

Danger: Diabolik is an Italian film that was originally released in 1968, directed by Mario Bava. Based off a popular comic book character, the film stays true to the colorful, hyper-reality world displayed in the original comic with an abundance of lavish sets and highly stylized art direction. It contains some of my favorite set-designs and costuming in film history – followed closely by Bava’s 1965 cult classic, Planet of The Vampires and 1968’s Barbarella (which was shot at the same time as Danger: Diabolik, and includes much of the same cast and crew) Recommended viewing.
